Kabarak University Law Alumni Celebrate Legacy and Launch at Prestigious Dinner

In a night marked by elegance, inspiration, and deep reflection, Kabarak University proudly hosted the inaugural Kabarak Law School Alumni Dinner and Launch at the esteemed United Kenya Club, Nairobi, on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The event brought together a remarkable gathering of legal minds — trailblazing alumni of Kabarak Law School — who have shaped the legal landscape over the past 15 years.

Graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, alongside members of the University Management Board (UMB) and senior faculty, the dinner was more than a reunion. It was a celebration of legacy, a convergence of shared purpose, and the official launch of the Kabarak University Law Alumni Association — a transformative initiative aimed at fostering professional connections, mentorship, and institutional pride.

The evening began with a reflective devotional led by Rev. Justus Mutuku, Acting University Provost, followed by welcome remarks and introductions by Mr. Arnold Magina. A dynamic panel discussion featuring distinguished alumni — Ms. Julie Matoke, Mr. Kiroko Ndegwa, Mr. Kelly Malenya, and Ms. Marion Bii — emphasized the significance of the association in strengthening alumni engagement and creating structured pathways for mentorship, internships, and legal training for current students.

A representative of the Law Society of Kenya, Ms. Gloria Kimani, lauded the initiative, commending Kabarak’s contribution to the legal profession. This was followed by inspiring remarks from Prof. John Ambani, Dean of the School of Law, and Prof. John Ochola, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Research), both of whom emphasized the School's unwavering commitment to ethical and academic distinction.

In his keynote address, Prof. Kiplangat praised the alumni for their remarkable achievements and reaffirmed the University’s dedication to supporting the association. He underscored the vital role that alumni play in mentoring the next generation of legal professionals and encouraged continued collaboration between the alumni body and the university leadership.

Throughout the evening, the atmosphere was filled with pride, purpose, and the spirit of community. Alumni shared stories of courtroom victories, legislative reforms, scholarly contributions, and civic engagements — all a testament to Kabarak’s holistic legal education.

A recurring theme of the night was mentorship. Many alumni pledged to open doors for students through internships, career coaching, and networking opportunities. The newly launched association was recognized as a strategic bridge — one that connects the promise of youth with the experience and influence of seasoned practitioners.

The launch of the Kabarak University Law Alumni Association signals a new chapter in the institution’s journey: one that honors its past, celebrates its present, and boldly shapes the future of legal excellence in Kenya and beyond.
