A moment of pride and national recognition unfolded at State House, Nairobi, as the Kabarak University President’s Award–Kenya (PA-K) unit joined other achievers for the prestigious Gold Award Presentation Ceremony. The team was led by our Vice-Chancellor and Patron of Kabarak University’s PA-K team, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, marking a significant milestone for the university’s leadership and student community.
The prestigious ceremony was hosted by His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H., President of the Republic of Kenya and Patron of the President’s Award–Kenya, and brought together 1,252 Gold Award recipients from across the country. In his address, President Ruto commended Kenya’s youth for their resilience, discipline, and leadership potential, noting their critical role in driving the nation’s transformation towards a first-world economy.
“Kenya’s young people have the competence, energy, resolve, and talent to turn our grand ambition into reality,” President Ruto said, emphasizing that Kenyan youth rank among the best globally.
The Gold Award, the highest level within the President’s Award–Kenya Programme, is a rigorous and transformative journey that challenges participants through Bronze, Silver, and finally Gold levels, preparing them for life through service, skills development, physical recreation, and adventurous journeys.
During the ceremony, Kabarak University proudly presented 12 students who completed the demanding Gold Award requirements, reflecting the University’s strong culture of discipline, service, and leadership.

In recognition of exemplary leadership and support, Prof. Henry Kiplangat received a Certificate of Appreciation for his role as Patron of the Kabarak University PA-K Unit, acknowledging his unwavering support in creating an enabling environment for student excellence.

Mr. David Langat, Sports and Recreation Officer and Award Leader, was awarded a certificate in recognition of his dedication in training, mentoring, and guiding the students throughout their PA-K journey.
The President’s Award–Kenya (PA-K) is an internationally recognized programme that empowers young people through personal development, community service, leadership training, and character formation. Participation in the Gold Award reflects sustained commitment, resilience, and excellence.
