Kabarak’s Dr. Elkanah Cheboi Joins Global Study Tour of Ancient Churches Marking 1700 Years of Christian History

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Elkanah Cheboi, a lecturer in the Department of Theology and Biblical Studies, School of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences, who has been selected by the Asia Minor Research Centre as one of the Global South New Testament scholars to participate in a distinguished field trip to biblical sites across Turkey; the historic region of ancient Asia Minor.

This unique opportunity includes a commemorative international conference marking the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (AD 325–2025), held in Istanbul (formerly Constantinople). The Council played a pivotal role in affirming the divinity of Christ, shaping the theological foundation of Christianity.

The field program is designed to immerse scholars in the historical, archaeological, political, social, and cultural landscapes that shaped early Christianity. Highlights include visits to the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation and key venues that hosted the early ecumenical councils.
