Commissioning of Peer Counselors and Mental Health Awareness Drive Marks an Uplifting Chapel Service at Kabarak

In a meaningful step toward strengthening holistic well-being within its community, Kabarak University on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, held a special chapel service at the Convocation Hall that featured the commissioning of its new Peer Counselling program. This initiative is designed to promote mental health awareness and encourage peer-to-peer support among students and the wider university family.

Empowering Students Through Peer Counseling Training to Promote Mental Wellness Across Campuses

The Kabarak University Counselling Section, with immense support from the Office of the Dean of Students and the Chaplaincy Department, successfully conducted a three-day Peer Counseling Training from 3rd to 5th July 2025 at the Main Campus. This biannual training brought together selected student participants from both the Main Campus and the Nakuru City Campus. The objective of the training was to enhance peer support structures by equipping students with basic counseling skills to help them address a variety of mental health challenges within the student population.

Kabarak University Celebrates Faith, Fellowship, and Purpose During Spiritual Ministry Fair

Today’s Chapel service at Kabarak University was a powerful celebration of community, purpose, and spiritual growth. The event marked a highlight of the ongoing Ministry Fair Week, an initiative under the Department of Spiritual Affairs designed to showcase the vibrant array of Campus Ministries that form the heart of spiritual life at Kabarak.

Our Experience at the 5th Annual Christian Student Leadership Conference

From June 3rd to 6th, 2025, a team of 11 Christian student leaders from Kabarak University, accompanied by Assistant Chaplain Pastor Deborah Juma, had the privilege of attending the 5th Annual Christian Student Leadership Conference at the Jumuia Conference Resort in Kanamai. The conference, themed “Leadership that Transforms,”  brought together over 200 Christian student leaders from 15 universities across the country. The University Provost, Rev. Justus Mutuku, graced the official opening of the conference.

Mental Health Awareness Week: Empowering Minds, Strengthening Support Systems

The Kabarak University Students Organization (KUSO), in collaboration with the Counseling Section, organized a vibrant and impactful Mental Health Awareness Week. The event ran from 3rd to 5th June 2025 and was held simultaneously at both the Main Campus and Nakuru City Campus.

Kabarak University wrapped up its highly anticipated 2025 Cultural Week in grand style, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated. The cultural week which was held from Monday, the 17th of March with the opening ceremony, auditions on Wednesday, to Saturday, the 22nd of March, the event was an inspiring celebration of tradition, creativity, and forward-looking vision, reflecting this year’s theme: "Echoes of the Past, Visions of the Future."
